Andrea Zojourner (1949-2008)

It is with great sadness that I report that Andrea, a strong supporter of human rights and a vital financial supporter without whom YouthFacts.org would not exist, died of cancer in Logan, Utah, on August 18 at the far too premature age of 58.

Andrea’s advocacy for self help, women’s rights, zestful living, and young people included mental health designs, successful legal advances on behalf of women and patients, and generous personal and financial contributions to many causes. I can’t help but believe that the strains of promoting pioneering, often unpopular ideas in this increasingly cold and closed America contributed to her early death.  

I wish more could have known her as I did as a kind companion to many, supporter, and truly original voice and ironic wit. Goodbye, Dr. Z.
